How a Jewish Wedding in Toronto Taught Me the Most Important Lesson About Time

Time doesn’t vanish.
It doesn’t hide.
It doesn’t wait.
It’s traded.
Every single second of our lives, we’re trading time for something—scrolling, stressing, working, watching.

The real question is: Are we getting a good deal?
I had the honor of officiating a stunning Jewish Wedding in Toronto for Suzanne and Tommy—a couple who understood the value of time better than most. They weren’t just planning a wedding. They were building a life.
And in doing so, they reminded me of something powerful:
Time is our most precious resource.
Part 1: The Wedding That Ran on Meaning, Not on Minutes
Suzanne and Tommy didn’t rush through planning their wedding. They approached every detail with intention.
From selecting a beautiful Jewish Wedding Venue that honored both tradition and modernity, to choosing a Jewish Wedding Cantor who would guide them through their personalized Jewish Wedding Ceremony, every element had a purpose.
When we met, they shared stories about their families, their values, their dreams. They weren’t just focused on the Jewish Wedding Music or decorations—they were focused on what really mattered: showing up for each other in every season of life.
They knew that real Jewish Wedding Planning isn’t just about the Ketubah, the Jewish Wedding Chuppah, or the Jewish Wedding Dance. It’s about being fully present. Fully committed. And fully grateful for the time you have—together.
Part 2: The Trade-Off We’re All Making
You don’t need 25 hours in a day.
What you need is clarity.
Priorities.
And a system that puts what matters most at the center.
As someone who mentors kids in my Bar and Bat Mitzvah training, I see the same thing over and over again:
Most people don’t have a time problem—they have a focus problem.
That’s why in my online Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah programs, I teach something unique: Time Mastery.
Through our work together—whether it’s reading from the Torah or writing a speech—students like Suzanne’s nephew (who I also had the honor of teaching!) learn how to:
• Focus like a leader.
• Eliminate distractions.
• Use their schedule as a tool—not a trap.
Because every minute you give to something meaningless…
is a minute you’re not giving to what actually moves you forward.
Part 3: A Gift I Give to Every Student—and That You Can Download Too
That’s why I created a free resource I give to every family that works with me:
“The 5 Laws of Time Domination” PDF.
This short, powerful guide is built for kids and teens—yet parents tell me they use it for themselves, too.
It breaks down:
• How to build a daily routine that feels empowering.
• How to choose what to say YES to—and what to say NO to.
• How to win the day before it even starts.
Suzanne and Tommy loved it so much they sent it to their niece who’s preparing for her Bat Mitzvah for Adults—a journey that blends spiritual growth with the discipline of wise time use.
If you’d like a copy, just DM me the word “TIME” on Instagram or through my site.
Part 4: Why This Matters for Weddings, Families, and Life
A Jewish Wedding isn’t just about the Hora or the Jewish Wedding Vows. It’s about a covenant—of presence, of showing up, of shared priorities.
That’s why every Jewish Wedding Officiant should go beyond rituals. We should help couples like Suzanne and Tommy create sacred structure. Structure that lasts far beyond the Jewish Wedding Reception.
That’s why I take the time to learn about the couple, their families, their dreams for future Jewish Baby Naming Ceremonies or even Jewish Newborn Celebrations.
Because time is what makes meaning real.
Whether you’re planning a Traditional Jewish Wedding, a Modern Jewish Wedding, or preparing for a Jewish Baby Naming Tradition, how you spend your time reveals what you truly value.
And if you don’t actively choose your schedule…
Someone else will.
Final Thought: Time Isn’t Running Out—It’s Running FORWARD
The Jewish Wedding Toronto community is full of beautiful couples like Suzanne and Tommy—people who show us what happens when love, faith, and time come together.
So let me ask you:
Are you trading your time for what matters?
Are you building a life filled with Jewish Wedding Celebrations, intentional moments, and future joy?
Or are you stuck in someone else’s version of success?
Take control.
Whether you’re booking a Jewish Wedding Cantor, planning your Jewish Baby Naming Ceremony, or preparing for a Jewish Wedding Ketubah signing that reflects your values—do it with presence.
With purpose.
With love.
I was mentored by a great Jewish wedding Rabbi. I carry that wisdom in every ceremony I officiate, every couple I bless, every family I guide.
And I would be honored to do the same for you.
